Our students enjoy a rigorous, college preparatory education that instills in them a lifelong love of learning. You can see first hand the enthusiasm and success of our students by visiting our campus during one of our many "Through the Gate" or Open House tours.

Admissions Guidelines
During our admission process, we consider many factors including testing, school transcripts, teacher recommendations, observations, and school visits, as well as personal contact in determining whether McGehee and your daughter are well-suited.
To experience all McGehee has to offer, we invite you to call our Admission office for tour schedules or for a private tour of our Garden District campus.
How to apply:
General Procedures
- Application - $50 fee (non-refundable).
- Teacher recommendation(s) from current school.
- Classroom visits (Pre-K through 12th Grade).
Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st Grade:
- Intellectual assessment (WPPSI-III) administered by a child psychologist. Fees vary. Click here to see list of testers.
- Observation of applicant at current school for Pre-K and K applicants.
- Teacher recommendations.
- School visit.
Second through Fourth Grades:
- Evaluations administered at McGehee.
- Transcripts from current school.
- Intellectual assessment (WISC-IVadministered by a child psychologist) for non-ISAS applicants. Click here to see a list of testers.
- Teacher recommendations.
- School visit.
Fifth through Twelfth Grades:
- ISEE testing administered at McGehee or other ISAS school.
- Transcript from current school.
- Teacher recommendations.
- School visit.
