Financial Aid
In support of the Mission of the Louise S. McGehee School, the Board of Trustees has made a strong commitment to our financial aid program. Financial aid is available to McGehee students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 and is based on the financial need of the family, as well as the availability of funds. All financial aid is kept strictly confidential and applying for this type of aid does not influence decisions regarding admission.
To apply for financial aid, answer "yes" to the last question on the back page of the admission application. A Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) and McGehee financial aid application will be mailed to you. The PFS can be filled out online, or mailed to the School and Student Services (SSS) by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) in Princeton, N.J. The McGehee application should be returned to the school along with a copy of your Federal Income Tax statement and W-2 form.
The SSS provides McGehee with information concerning the family's ability to contribute to their child's education based on a formula accepted nationally by independent schools. McGehee's Financial Aid Committee will review the information submitted as a basis for granting an award. Awards are based upon the guidelines established by the Board of Trustees.
Meeting deadlines is absolutely essential to your application. Failure to submit your paperwork on time may jeopardize your award. The deadline for submitting your forms for the 2010-2011 school year is February 18, 2010.
