The Middle School team won the Mount Carmel Elementary Girls race! With over 21 teams competing, we were the fastest! All girls ran to their potential and we had two runners in the Top 10 overall: Morgan M. '17 in 11:17 and Madeleine B. '15 in 11:58. |

The Varsity team had a fantastic weekend at the Newman Invitational. McGehee finished in 3rd place as a team. We had 3 girls finish in the top 20. Helen K ran 23:25 to finish 19th , Sydney P ran 21:36 to finish in 2nd and Grace O won the meet in a time of 20:58. Congratulations to the entire team for their hard efforts in once again, sloppy course conditions!
The Middle School team also had a strong showing at the Newman Invitational. The weather was hot and the course was sloppy, but cross country runners can deal with that! Morgan M. was 9th overall and our team placed 2nd overall! Congratulations, girls! |

This weekend the Varsity Cross Country team raced at the St. Joseph's Academy Invitational in Baton Rouge. Sydney P was the first McG athlete to cross the finish line in a time of 20:42 with Grace O close behind in a time of 20:54. The team finished 10th overall out of 28 teams. Each athlete significantly improved her season best time and the team is looking forward to returning back to Baton Rouge again next weekend. |

The middle school placed 4th out of 15 teams competing in the Junior High race! A very impressive showing, amoungst lots of very talented school. In addition, our own Morgan M. placed 24th out of 178 finishers in that race, in a time of 15:32. Great job to all of you!
The McGehee Hawks finished 6th overall out of 26 teams this past weekend at the Catholic High School Invitational meet in Baton Rouge.
Despite the extremely muddy conditions, the varsity team ran very strong and managed to beat Newman, who finished behind McGehee in 7th place.
Grace O was 23rd in 21:27, Sydney P was 24th in 21:28, Amanda M was 47th in 22:48, Helen K was 60th in 23:19, Caroline D was 70th in 23:35, Laura L was 100th in 24:31 and Aggie B was 114th in 25:08. There were 222 runners in this race! |

The middle school runners had perfect weather for their return to City Park! We were missing several top runners, but still managed to come in 2nd as a team. Additionally, we had two girls in the Top Ten overall: Morgan M. in 2nd place, with a time of 16:15, and Madeleine B. in 4th place, with a time of 17:30. |

McGehee's varsity XC travelled to Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend with four varsity runners and produced the following results in the high school girl's open 5K:
Grace O.: 20:44 (3 mile conversion: 19:58)
Sydney P: 21:02 (3 mile conversion: 20:16)
Helen K.: 22.08 (3 mile conversion: 21:20)
Amanda M.: 23.14 (3 mile conversion: 22:22)
We placed two runners in the top ten and all girls ran season best times!!!

Our girls' last meet at City Park this season was a success! It was a close meet - we came in 3rd as a team, 1 point behind 2nd place Newman. Individually, the results were fantastic and Coach Minihan is very pleased. Most everyone beat the goals set for them - some by quite a bit!
The weather was perfect, but the course was sloppy (as we've come to expect from City Park). Lots of shoes were lost, but that's cross country, right? Morgan M. was our only top 10 runner in a PR time of 15:16, but many of her teammates also ran PRs and generally had a great race. |

McGehee wins District!
Grace O. won the entire meet and was the 9-2A District Champion in a time of 19:55, with Sydney P. as the District Runner-up in a time of 20:29. Caroline D. was third in 21:59, Madden W. 4th in 22:04 and Amanda M. 5th in 22:05. McGehee finished with a perfect score of 15 points!
Haynes Academy was 2nd with 75 points and St. Charles Catholic was 3rd with 88 points.
Thanks to the organizational efforts of Taylor, Hallie, Emily Anne, Cathy and Deanna! You all did a fantastic job and helped the meet run smoothly. |

The Middle School Cross Country runners ended their season with a bang! The competition was tough and the results were close. Our team came in 4th overall, but individual times were stellar, with more than a few girls running personal best times on this new course. Our top finisher was Morgan M., in a time of 13:46. She was followed by Madeleine B., in 15:05 and Rachel M., in 15:59.
