National Community Service Day
View Photogallery
In honor of all the McGehee women whose volunteerism has impacted countless lives, we are proud to announce a National Alumnae Community Service Day to be held on Saturday, May 15.
To kick-off this event, alumnae in Houston, TX; New York, NY; Washington, D.C.; New Orleans, and Baton Rouge, LA, will participate in community service projects in their respective cities.
However, you don't have to live in one of these cities to participate. If you are already involved in your community, we'd like to recognize your efforts too. Or, if you'd like to organize a group of alumnae to participate in a service project in your town, please contact Pamby Barfield, Director of Alumnae Affairs at 504-274-4917 or PambyB@mcgeheeschool.com.
Each group will be asked to document their project by submitting a photograph of the volunteers to McGehee (see the photo above). All pictures will be assembled into a photo collage to display in the Paulette de la Vergne Stewart '57 Alumnae House in recognition of all that McGehee alumnae do for their communities.
