In the event of severe weather, such as a tropical storm or hurricane warning, please seek the following sources for official information regarding school closure:

Preparation for Evacuation

1. Please plan now with your daughter. She should take her textbooks and laptop in the event of an evacuation.
2. If the school is closed for a period of time, instructional lesson plans have been prepared for students in grades 6-12 and will be available on their class School Fusion pages. Folders for grades Pre-K – 5 will be distributed the first week of school. These materials will also be posted on the website.

In the Event of an Evacuation

1. In the event of an evacuation, parents are asked to go to the McGehee website and click on the Hurricane Preparedness Link to register their vital contact information.
2. Students in grades 6-12 can access lessons online through this link.
3. Student bulletin boards will be posted by division – Little Gate, Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School – so students and teachers can communicate.
4. Check the link daily. It is the responsibility of each McGehee parent to check the website for announcements and updates on a regular basis.
5. If you relocate, please return to the Hurricane Preparedness Link and register your newest contact information.
