Melanie Sheen

Hematologist/Oncology, Ochsner Health

Dr. Melanie Sheen is a board certified hematologist/medical oncologist with a special interest in breast cancer. She graduated from McGehee in 2002 with honors and distinction in mathematics. She received her BA in communications from The University of Pennsylvania, and went on to medical school at Tulane University. She completed an oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. Melanie recently joined the staff at Ochsner Medical Center as a breast cancer specialist where she sees patients, teaches residents and fellows, and conducts clinical research. She and her husband, David, have a son Ezra who is a Little Gate Alumni and Aylin in Kindergarten at McGehee (a future member of the 14 year club).
