Jazz Fest

Jazz Fest at Little Gate is a day filled with music, culture, community, creativity and self expression. Just as families explore the New Orleans tradition of Jazz Fest, we explore the same ideas within our school environment. The children listen to live music from guest musicians as well as from McGehee students. Whether listening to singing, the Orff ensemble, or drums and recorders, the program is always diverse and highlights different instruments and sounds. Each Little Gate group displays their class flags and wears their class shirts, tie-dyed of course. Our entire Little Gate community comes together to dance, share snowballs, eat meat pies and watermelon under the shade of "Windy.”
