Our Aqua Elephants' Mixed Media Art project brought a splash of creativity to the classroom! 🎨 Starting with a blue and turquoise watercolor canvas, the Aquas explored "treasures" like old keys, computer chips, and spiral cords, painting each item in shades of blue before gluing them onto the canvas. Hispanic Heritage Month concluded with our beloved annual fiesta! ✨ This joyful event has become a cherished tradition for our children, faculty, volunteers, and families celebrating Hispanic heritage. Faculty members and Little Gate families who are proud of their Hispanic heritage shared traditional dishes from various Latin American countries, including pastelitos de pina, pan de coco, pastel de tres leches, and platano madura con crema y frijoles, along with refreshing Agua Fresca in a variety of flavors. The lively music from local band Julio and Cesar filled the air, inviting everyone to dance! Our friends brightened the celebration with vibrant decorations and festive attire, including Frida inspired flower headbands and this year's fiesta t-shirt! The weather was perfect, and the day was a joyful celebration of heritage and community. To the parent volunteers that supported this event, thank you for your time and enthusiasm! Yesterday, Little Gate friends enjoyed a special Rosh Hashanah snack of challah bread and apples with honey. Friends have also been learning about the Jewish New Year with a special reading of Apples and Honey: A Rosh Hashanah Story by Jonny Zucker. Happy Rosh Hashanah!

We are piling on the PAINT! 🎨 As part of our everyday art exploration we started exploring monoprinting! Monoprinting is all about making discoveries. Our Aqua Elephants loved laying on that thick paint and then patting down a clean sheet of paper on top of it, knowing that in moments they'll get to peel the paper back for the big colorful reveal. TaDa! We are excited to elaborate and experiment more with monoprinting. The possibilities are colorful and endless!
