Little Gate Fiesta

October 15th, 2021

Today's FIESTA was the month-long culmination of Hispanic Heritage! We celebrated with music, food, piƱatas, colorful art, and dancing! Friends got to try watermelon and cucumber Agua Fresca and Orchata (sweet rice milk). They also got to try polvorones, pastelitos, elote, and paletas. Everything was homemade by our Hispanic American staff at McGehee and Little Gate!

Hispanic Heritage Month began on September 15th, which is a nod to the anniversaries of national independence from Spain for many Central American countries. We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Americans to the history and culture of the United States.
