Little Gate Celebrates Holi

Our youngest students enjoyed celebrating Holi, also known as Dhulandi this week. This ancient Hindu festival is celebrated annually across India, with different regions celebrating with different traditions. The most widely known Holi tradition is throwing gulaal (colored powder) all over the streets and each other, lighting bonfires, and dancing to traditional music. This festival of love and light ushers in spring and our Little Gaters had a blast during this celebration!

Founded in 1912 and located on a one-of-a-kind campus in the Garden District of New Orleans, McGehee is a private, independent, all-girls pre-K, kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school.
