Asian American Assembly

April 11th, 2021

During a Tuesday assembly, the Diversity Club, led by seniors Georgia Gambrell and Lynn-Chi Nguyen, offered a presentation to the Upper School entitled "Violence Against Asian-Americans during COVID-19." Speaking to their peers and faculty, Georgia and Lynn-Chi discussed a variety of issues which have led to the most recent attacks against Asian-Americans in the United States. These students also introduced a proactive way to show solidarity with our local Asian-American community: a competition to support as many Asian-owned businesses as possible. Upper School students have risen to the challenge and have been posting on the Diversity Club’s collaborative Snapchat story to highlight businesses that they are supporting. We are so proud of these leading women for their efforts and their advocacy.
