Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

To learn more about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., students in Kindergarten B watched a video called, “The Story of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by Kid President” and listened to Ms. Lemann read the book, Young Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “I Have A Dream” by Joanne Mattern, illustrated by Allan Eitzen. Thursday, the class watched a video of Yolanda King, 16 year old granddaughter of Martin Luther King, Jr. where she discussed a book she recently wrote and the continuation of her grandfather’s dreams. She also talked about what young people can do to dream and help the world. The girls then wrote an illustrated story about dreams they have to make the world a better place.⁣
