Academics, athletics and achievement seem to be ingrained in Holly Layman. She wrote, “I think McGehee has prepared me for college and my future by providing me with rigorous courses and assignments that teach me to time manage and develop good critical thinking skills. I feel confident to take on the assignments of college and life.”

Volleyball, Basketball, and Track & Field keep this senior very busy, and just last week Holly and the Track & Field team came home with the State Championship trophy. She was complimentary of McGehee athletics, writing, “ I am grateful to the McGehee athletics program and all of my coaches for always supporting me in my sports!”

Holly had this to say about faculty member Ms. Fallon. “Not only is she my Women's History teacher, but my advisor and mentor as well. She has really helped guide me in my academic achievements and helped me develop an understanding of research materials and the research process as a whole.”

As for her favorite McGehee tradition, it’s the senior study. She wrote, “I've loved having access to it and so many good memories have been made there with my classmates. I'm so excited to be graduating, but I will miss my classmates a lot.”

As one of the top business schools in Florida and the top 25 business schools in the country, the University of Miami was definitely on Holly’s radar and after being admitted early decision, she decided to pursue an education in business and marketing there.
