CARTER JAHNCKE PERRILLIAT

Class of 1998

Graphic Designer

Carter began her journey at McGehee in Pre-K and graduated in 1998. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Louisiana State University, she launched her career at Caesars Entertainment, where she developed marketing materials and advertising campaigns for the company’s well-known brands. In 2005, she founded MOCA Graphics, offering brand strategies and marketing design services for businesses of all sizes. Continuing her academic pursuit, Carter returned to LSU and earned her Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2011.

A dedicated member of her community, Carter has served on the boards of Louise S. McGehee School, Dress for Success and Young Artists Young Aspirations (YAYA). She lives in uptown New Orleans with her husband, Claiborne, and their three children: Cole, a 7th grader at Trinity Episcopal School, and Mae ‘30 and Betty ‘35, both students at McGehee.

Reflecting on her time at McGehee, Carter attributes her success to the values instilled by the school’s honor code, which emphasizes fairness, respect, and accountability. These principles guided her through challenges both academic and professional, helping her build trust and navigate difficult situations. As a varsity athlete in both softball and soccer, she developed a strong work ethic and discipline, balancing the demands of sports and academics—skills that continue to serve her as a business owner and designer.
