Class of 2015

Physician Assistant

Layne Nalty began her McGehee journey in Little Gate and proudly graduated in 2015 as a member of the 14-Year Club. During her time at McGehee, she was a leader both on and off the field, serving as captain of the varsity soccer team, May Day captain, and 9th Grade Class President.

Layne earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Washington and Lee University in 2019. After graduation, she worked as an orthopedic medical assistant in Atlanta while applying to physician assistant (PA) programs. She went on to attend LSU Health Shreveport, where she served as Class Vice President and was honored with the Paragon of Professionalism Award. Layne graduated in 2023 with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies and has returned to Atlanta to complete an orthopedic fellowship at Peachtree Orthopedics.

Reflecting on her time at McGehee, Layne says, “I can confidently say I wouldn’t be where I am today without the important lessons I learned during my 14 years at McGehee. The teachers, faculty, and coaches shaped me and instilled a confidence that I’ve carried into my adult life.”
