TINA NGUYEN

Class of 2014

Resident Doctor

Tina Nguyen, MD earned her B.A. in Gender and Sexuality Studies from Tulane University before obtaining her Doctor of Medicine from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Now an OB-GYN resident at LSU, she is committed to delivering compassionate, comprehensive reproductive healthcare and addressing health inequities in New Orleans.

During medical school, Tina held leadership roles in several student organizations, including the Women’s Health Research Consortium and Students Advocating for Equity in Medicine. She also participated in sexual education programs for high school students. In her downtime, she enjoys exploring New Orleans’ vibrant restaurant scene, cooking for loved ones, and hosting dinner gatherings.

Tina credits McGehee with shaping her leadership skills and instilling a deep sense of integrity. “I developed my leadership style at McGehee, and I carry that with me in everything I do,” she reflects. She also values the Honor Code for teaching her to hold herself and others to a higher standard. Though she didn’t pursue law, Tina praises her Mock Trial experience for teaching her invaluable skills—organizing information, thinking on her feet, and communicating with conviction—skills she now applies in her medical career.
